We removed a worn single-car asphalt driveway and built a double-car entrance with six-inch-thick concrete squares and a border. We also replaced the public sidewalk to accommodate the expansion, as required by the city for this project.

Choose the right scope for your driveway
A driveway project can involve more than replacing the visible concrete. At the first visit, explain how you park, whether water collects near the garage, and where the surface has cracked, moved, or become uneven. We can discuss:
- New concrete driveway installation.
- Removal and replacement of an existing driveway.
- Widening and additional parking where feasible.
- Aprons, front walks, and adjoining concrete included in the project.
- Broom-finished or decorative concrete options.

Replacement and expansion are our focus
We focus on new concrete driveways, full replacements, and widening projects. Small repairs, standalone sealing, and resurfacing are generally referred to other providers.
During the visit, we review the existing driveway, parking needs, drainage, and the connection to the street. If widening affects the public sidewalk or apron, we include the required work in the proposed scope.

What should be included in a driveway proposal?
Ask for the measured area and a clear description of what will be removed and what will stay. The proposal should identify the preparation and concrete work being supplied, including the agreed specifications, finish, joints, transitions, cleanup, and applicable approval responsibilities.
Discuss these site details before the work starts:
- Finished levels at the garage and existing walks.
- Where rainwater currently collects or flows.
- Tree roots, irrigation, and nearby landscaping.
- Construction access and material staging.
- The boundary between private driveway work and any adjoining apron or sidewalk work.
These details help compare estimates fairly. A lower headline number may cover a different area or omit preparation and restoration included elsewhere.
What does a concrete driveway cost?
Most paving projects start around $6,000. Your price depends on measured area, demolition, access, preparation, materials, and the agreed scope. We can compare different materials or adjust the square footage to help match your budget.
We discuss permit fees, landscaping restoration, and irrigation work up front. Your written proposal identifies what is included and what is additional, so you can compare the full project cost.
From estimate to final inspection
We visit your property, listen to your vision, measure the area, and recommend materials. We can tailor the footprint and material choices to your budget, then email a written proposal.
Once you approve, we prepare the permit submission. Driveway permitting typically takes about four to six weeks and can take longer. Construction generally takes about a week, including inspections, followed by the city’s final inspection. Weather, site conditions, and inspection availability can affect the schedule.
Landscaping and grass restoration also need to be completed; we can help arrange that work. We will confirm when you can park on your new driveway—construction completion and readiness for vehicle traffic are different milestones.

Concrete driveway questions
Can my driveway be widened?
It may be possible, depending on the available space, drainage, utilities, and applicable restrictions. Explain your parking needs and provide any available survey or association requirements at the first visit.
Can new concrete match the old driveway?
New work can differ in color and texture from older concrete. Discuss the appearance of a partial replacement before choosing the scope, especially where the transition will be prominent.
Will concrete crack?

How soon can I park on it?
Follow the instructions provided for your project. The appropriate timing depends on the concrete, weather, and intended loads; completion of the finishing work is not the same as readiness for vehicle traffic.
